5/15/11: Frank Shelton from Putnam Baptist Church on Vimeo.
Just returned late Monday night from preaching EIGHT times in four days in beautiful North Carolina. The sermon above was the third of the morning services I preached at Putnam Baptist Church in Shelby, NC on Sunday, May 15 and I spoke that night at a YOUTH RALLY in Spruce Pine, NC. Speaking four times in one day (Sun) will wear you out (especially still under the weather with walking pnemonia).
God saved 54 adults and teens that weekend and after preaching the 8:30 & 10 AM services I felt God leading me to switch gears and preach an entirely different sermon at the 11 AM worship. I hope to show the 9:30 AM service on “Waiting on the Lord” soon and God showed up but I pray this message (with no notes) will bless you. The altar was completely packed following the message and I pray as Christians we will never get over the cross or forget what it was like to be “lost.” God is doing an awesome work at www.PutnamBaptist.org and a special thanks to my college buddy, Corby Haneline for the invite. He also opened the door for me to speak Friday, May 13 at the Cleveland County YMCA Prayer Breakfast to 340 community leaders at 7AM and Grace Christian School in Kings Mountain, NC at 1:30 PM that same day. It was a JOY to connect with Corby and his bride, Kendra and their wonderful family. It was a treat to see Dr Tracy Jessup and so many friends from Gardner-Webb while back in town.
A shout out to my buddy, Brent Ramsey for the invite to preach at his event Sunday night and that guy loves Jesus! On Monday morning, Brent arranged for me to speak at Harris Middle School in North Carolina en route to Charlotte to catch my flight home to Washington, DC.
PRAY for my family as we live completey on faith and we have taken some shots lately spiritually, financially and emotionally. “TO GOD BE THE GLORY – Great things HE hath done!” I have a 4:50 AM (yes, you read that right) train departure this Fri March 20, 2011 out of Washington, DC Union Station to New York City to return on a panel on FOX NEWS LIVE with Lauren Green at Fox studios. PRAY for clarity, humility and transparency as I share Christian views on a national show. Its my honor to be linked with them.
Hey Frank, I’m the guy with the 350Z in Spruce Pine if you remember me. I clicked on your profile and i noticed Bert Epting popped up on your friends. He happens to be the son of North Greenville University president Jimmy Epting. I currently attend North Greenville and was wondering if you ever come there and speak? I’m sure you would be well received there!
