Happy Anniversary Ruth – I LOVE YOU!

Ruth, is my best friend and she is both the brains and beauty of our marriage. Sometimes, I think she is the “braun” for not only putting up with me but carrying the load on so many fronts. She is self-less and a servant of our Savior. She reminds me of Esther in the Bible and she certainly lives up to Ruth in Scripture. She is an amazing wife, mother, worker and best of all – “kid of the King.” God has blessed me beyond my wildest dreams with her and every day is a gift from God.

Her Daddy is a preacher of nearly 50 years and she was born in El Salvador and today, has brothers and sisters who live in Houston, TX and Dallas, respectively but also Canada. We just bought our airline tickets to travel with baby Andrew to Calgary, Canada next month and a door was opened for me to preach on Sunday, August 15 while visiting. I have yet to visit Canada and I hear it is breath-taking and we are looking forward to it!

Ruth is precious, priceless and a princess. Over the years, in various capacities; I have met earthly kings and dined with pagent queens but they all pale in comparison to my wife, Ruth. During the darkest days of my life God showed me that I was going to marry a dark skinned woman, curvy but whom walks the straight and narrow. It is true, my wife, Ruth is a better Christian than me. For starters, she loves the Lord, loves life and more loyal than a royal dog. Please don’t think I am comparing my wife to a dog but if “a dog is a man’s best friend” than they never had the privilege to be in the presence of my wife, Ruth. Hands down, she is humble, honorable and I am so happy to be her husband 🙂

My heart dropped the first time we met and my prayer is that my heart stops beating before hers because (until the Lord comes or calls me Home) I want to savor every moment of my life with her. If Bo Derek was a “10” than Ruth is batting 1,000! I may have struck out in the past but by God’s grace I not only hit the “jack-pot” but got a Grand Slam with Ruth.

Friends, the Lord has not forgotten you and never doubt in the dark what the Lord revealed to you in the light. God is never in a hurry but ALWAYS on time. His ways are not ours but God didn’t fail me and He will not fail you. God still answers prayer and Ruth and I, are living proof that we not only serve a good God but an on time God!

Ruth has the curves of a Ferrari, the drive of a Lamborghini but humble enough to realize the best things in life are not things. She finds JOY in Jesus, fun with family/friends, she is a giver and never out to “get” and she interacts with everyone with ease. It is grace that I am saved and its grace that out of a couple billion people on planet Earth – God allowed this goofball (me) to meet and marry one who is not only out of my league but in my eyes – OUT OF THIS WORLD!

The Lord has been too good to me. Thank you Jesus and I love you Ruth!
