God is the FAMOUS One. Frank Shelton desires daily to be found faithful when the Lord comes or calls him home. Not a "celebrity" but a servant with a passion for God and compassion for people. He is an international communicator, author and addresses audiences of all ages at various venues. Frank is not the sharpest tool in the shed and absolutely the world's worst cook but the one thing he does "get" is that we are sinners in need of the Savior! Ironically, he received a "D" in public speaking in high school but today, some suggest one of the most gifted story-tellers in America. He is part comedian and full communicator of God's great Gospel. He is an encourager and evangelist! At age seven, Frank gave his heart to Jesus in 1979. Three years later at age ten (1982), his church had a contest that whoever brought the most friends to VBS would win a prize. More than a competition, Frank had such a burden for his "lost" friends that he made a pact with God that he cared more what the Lord in Heaven thought than his friends on Earth. Win or lose, sink or swim, live or die; young Frank knew even as a child that the world needs Jesus. Well, Frank won the prize because he brought 22 kids to Vacation Bible School in one week (at age 10).
Three decades later, Frank still desires daily to point people to a personal relationship with Christ. The Bible notes: "If you are faithful in small matters you will be faithful in larger matters." He uses HUMOR, celebrity impressions and powerful parables that connect folks with the Living Lord. Frank is ordained Southern Baptist but promotes Christ crucified and coming again not denominations. He has spoken at massive mega-churches, but has a huge heart for the local, country church. Frank never viewed “success” in the size of a sanctuary but his service to his Savior. For Frank, it was always an audience of One. Not crowds but Christ.
Frank loves his wife, Ruth & daughter, Hannah Grace & son, Andrew Lincoln more than life itself and they reside in Southern Maryland. Frank serves on Advisory Board of PRAISEFEST MINISTRIES with Josh McDowell & Dr Ergun Caner. He is a featured artist with COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL and the least matter most to God. He is founder of Celebrate Jesus! Crusades and loves Cracker-Barrel, sweet tea and making friends. At a recent UPWARDS event, Frank spoke to 1,400 parents and players and nearly 400 decisions were made for Christ in one day! Frank has been a youth pastor, Minister of Evangelism, senior pastor and tapped VP of National Christian Youth Speakers Network in 2000-2003. However, his passion is doing the "work of an evangelist." Frank has been blessed but also "broken" and ironically, his setbacks more than his successes touch and transform lives the most! Since childhood, Frank daydreamed about doing three things with his life: Politics, Protect the President or Preach the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST around the world. At 37, he was blessed to pursue all three vocations. He worked 17 years on Capitol Hill, in various Congressional capacities while being a bi-vocational evangelist. Frank despite working in two White Houses realized that true success, satisfaction and salvation stem not from the "gifts of Government" but the "grace of God." Frank left the prestige, power and pay on Capitol Hill "by faith" to speak to whomever, wherever and whenever to help reach the lost for the Lord. The Bible is clear: "He that winneth souls is wise." In closing, Frank's father was Deputy-Chief of the United States Capitol Police. His family has five generations of Washington, DC police officers in the Shelton Family. Frank's ancestor was on duty at Ford's Theater, Good Friday, 1865, and assisted in carrying President Abraham Lincoln across the street after that fatal shooting. Frank's family friend was an honorary pallbearer at Elvis Presley's funeral. Frank went to the Holy Land in 1995, and entered and exited the EMPTY tomb of Christ. Frank is mindful everyday that we don't just carry like his ancestor “The King of a Nation (Lincoln) or the “King of Rock n Roll (Elvis)” but like Joseph of Arimathea we carry “The King of ALL kings (Jesus) by our life and lips!” It is one thing to carry greatness but entirely and eternally different when “Greatness” carries you!
